Our Staff

Starling Richardson’s professional staff has the qualifications and experience to meet your current and future construction and project management needs.

James B. Starling – President
Jim has been working as a construction manager and general contractor in the North Texas area since 1973. He is responsible for Starling Richardson Construction’s entire core construction operation, including estimating and maintaining a direct involvement in the management of each project. During his career he has managed more than 100 projects in the north Texas area. Jim is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Mike D. Morrison – Vice President Construction Operations
Mike Morrison re-joined Starling Richardson Construction in January, 2014. With thirty years of experience in estimating, project management and supervision of commercial construction projects in the D-FW area, he will oversee all Pre-Construction Services as well as all construction operations. Mike has been involved in the successful completion of over 50 projects for numerous clients in north Texas.

Phillip Adlof – Vice President Estimating
Phillip joined Starling Richardson Construction in August, 2014 and has worked in the construction industry since 1982 and will oversee all estimating services. During his career he has managed many educational and religious projects for clients including Carrollton – Farmers Branch School District, Coppell I.S.D., Lewisville I.S.D., Grand Prairie I.S.D., Tolar I.S.D., North Lamar I.S.D., Dallas ISD, Congregation Shearith Israel, Congregation Ohr Hatora, and First United Methodist Church of Plano.

Louis B. Sussman – Project Manager/Estimator
Lou joined Starling Richardson Construction in February, 2014 and has worked in the construction industry since 1977. During his career he has overseen the successful completion of over 40 projects for various clients including the Carrollton – Farmers Branch School District, Coppell I.S.D., Grapevine-Colleyville I.S.D., Hurst-Euless I.S.D. Lewisville I.S.D., Grand Prairie I.S.D. and Dallas ISD.

Kyle Reist – Project Manager
Kyle Reist started with Starling Richardson Construction, Inc in June, 2008 and has a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. He has worked on Youth Center Additions for Canyon Creek Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Rockwall; Animal Shelter, Town Hall Renovation, Library Addition and Renovation, and Community Center Renovation for the Town of Little Elm.

Jerry Hoffman, CPA – Controller
Jerry Hoffman began working for Starling Richardson Construction, Inc. in March of 2009 and is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for our organization.

Kim Scott – Administrative Assistant/Accounting Administrator
Kim Scott has been with Starling Richardson Construction, Inc since April, 2006. Her responsibilities include financial statement preparation, payroll, project cost accounting, processing and payment of invoices, issuance of checks to subcontractors and suppliers, establishing temporary services and utilities for project sites, maintaining subcontractor files and required paperwork, and many other various accounting, bonding, and insurance tasks.

Ted Spears – General Superintendent
Ted Spears is responsible for the supervision of Starling Richardson Construction’s field operations and has been in the North Texas construction industry since 1980. Ted’s professionalism and experience ensures the construction process will be successful for owners, architects and subcontractors alike. His leadership and commitment to quality is evident in the professional attitude of our superintendents and field personnel as well as the quality of the facilities we build. When necessary, Ted also serves as a project superintendent and has completed Christie and Shepard Elementary Schools for Plano ISD, Frank Guzick Elementary School for Dallas ISD, and Daugherty Elementary School for Garland ISD.

Michael D. Smith – Project Superintendent
Mike Smith has been employed by Starling Richardson Construction, Inc. since January, 2001 and has been in the construction industry since 1980. He has completed projects for First United Methodist Church in Rockwall, Overcoming Faith Christian Center in Arlington, two separate additions at Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Richardson, Additions and Renovations to Baxter Elementary School and Frank Seale Middle School for Midlothian ISD, Patty and Bo Pilgrim Chapel for Dallas Baptist University, Jackson Elementary School, Employee Child Care Center, and Plano East Senior High School Medical Science Academy for Plano ISD, and Animal Shelter, Town Hall Renovation, Library Addition and Renovation, and Community Center Renovation for the Town of Little Elm.

Andy Munoz – Project Superintendent
Andy Munoz has been employed by Starling Richardson Construction, Inc since March, 2007 and has worked in the construction industry throughout the United States since 1985. He has worked on Frank Seale Middle School for Midlothian ISD, North Lake College – North Campus and Eastfield Career Center Expansion for Dallas County Community College, Brownstone Residences Phase 3, Patriot Café Remodel, and Republic Café Finish-Out for Dallas Baptist University, New Academic Building for The Covenant School of Dallas, and was the Assistant Superintendent at Jackson Elementary School for Plano ISD.

Glen R. Douglas – Project Superintendent
Glen re-joined Starling Richardson Construction in June, 2014 after an eight year absence. He was a superintendent for Kas Construction, our predecessor company, from 1986-1993 and worked for Starling Richardson Construction from 1994-2005. Glen has extensive experience in the construction of schools, churches, retail and restaurant facilities.
