Starling Richardson's professional staff has the qualifications and experience to meet your current and future construction and project management needs. The two principals of Starling Richardson Construction, Jim Starling (President) and Ed Richardson (Vice-President), have accumulated almost sixty years of combined construction industry experience. Jim and Ed, as well as most of Starling Richardson's key personnel, gained most of their previous experience while employed in various areas of management with KAS Construction Co.

James B. Starling - President, Co-owner
Jim Starling has been working as a construction manager in the North Texas area since 1973. He is responsible for Starling Richardson's entire core construction operation, including estimating and maintaining a direct involvement in the management of each project. Under Jim's direction SRC has built many notable facilities in the Dallas area. Jim is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Edward Richardson, CPA - Vice President, Co-owner
Ed Richardson has been working in the construction industry in the North Texas area since 1974. He is responsible for the accounting and related financial aspects of our organization. In addition to his financial responsibilities and like other SRC management, Ed is directly involved with the construction management of our projects. Ed is a graduate of Saint Mary's University.

arrow Ted Spears - General Superintendent 
Ted Spears is responsible for the supervision of Starling Richardson's field operations and has been in the North Texas construction industry since 1980. Ted's professionalism and experience ensures the construction process will be successful for owners, architects and subcontractors alike. Ted's leadership and commitment to quality is evident in the professional attitude of our superintendents and field personnel as well as the quality of the facilities we build.

James R. McLain - Project Manager

James McLain has been employed with Starling Richardson Construction, Inc. since 1996. Prior to that he was employed by our predecessor company, KAS Construction Co., from 1968 to 1996. James was our Superintendent on W.O. Gray Elementary School for Mesquite I.S.D., Anderson Elementary School for Allen I.S.D. and Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church.

arrow Eric Stanaland – Project Manager

Eric Stanaland has been with Starling Richardson Construction since 2005 and is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in construction science and a minor in business administration. He has worked on Frank Guzick Elementary School for Dallas I.S.D., Additions and Renovations to Shepton High School and Mathews Elementary School for Plano I.S.D., and North Lake College – North Campus for Dallas County Community College District.

arrow J.C. Holmes – Project Manager

J.C. Holmes has been with Starling Richardson Construction since May 2007 and is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in construction science and a minor in business administration. John's responsibilities include the estimating and management of current projects as well as administering the submittal, shop drawing, purchasing, and close-out document process.

Shady Kennedy - Administrative Assistant

Shady is responsible for keeping our office process functioning smoothly. Shady has been with Starling Richardson Construction since its inception in 1994. Prior to that Shady was employed by KAS Construction Co., our predecessor company. Shady received her Bachelors Degree from North Texas University.

Kim Scott – Accounting Administrator

Kim Scott has been with Starling Richardson Construction since April 2006 and assists Ed Richardson with the financial aspect of Starling Richardson. Her duties include financial statement preparation, processing invoices for payment, issuance of checks to subcontractors and suppliers, and other miscellaneous administrative tasks.

Morris G. Meredith - Superintendent

Morris Meredith has been employed by Starling Richardson Construction, Inc. since February, 2002. He has been in the construction industry since 1994 and has worked on First United Methodist Church in Rockwall, renovations to Ben Milam Elementary School for Dallas I.S.D., and Children's Building for First Baptist Church in Rockwall.

Larry A. Nelson – Superintendent

Larry Nelson joined Starling Richardson Construction, Inc. in October, 2003. He has over 24 years of commercial construction industry experience with an emphasis in the construction of educational facilities. Larry has enhanced his field experience by completing courses in estimating and asbestos abatement inspection. He completed the Additions and Renovations to W.H.L. Wells Elementary School for Plano I.S.D. and Additions and Renovations to Maple Lawn Elementary School for Dallas I.S.D. Larry is currently working on Shepton High School Additions and Renovations for Plano I.S.D

Mike Smith has been employed by Starling Richardson Construction, Inc. since January, 2001 and has been in the construction industry since 1980. He has worked on projects for Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Richardson, First United Methodist Church in Rockwall, Overcoming Faith Christian Center in Arlington, and additions and renovations to Baxter Elementary School and Frank Seale Middle School for Midlothian I.S.D.

Jonas Faust has been with Starling Richardson Construction since October, 2005. He has over 20 years experience in the construction industry and is currently working on Shepton High School Additions and Renovations for Plano I.S.D.

Andy Munoz has been with Starling Richardson Construction since March, 2007. He has worked in the construction industry throughout the United States since 1985 and is working on Frank Seale Middle School for Midlothian I.S.D.

Steve Richards has been with Starling Richardson Construction since May, 2007. He has worked in the construction industry since 1985 and is working on Patty and Bo Pilgrim Chapel for Dallas Baptist University.
